First real road trip...taking M from NJ to Niagara...any tips?
As the thread states, heading up there tomorrow evening...I know it's a long trip...hopefully I will be able to split driving time with my wife since I don't think I can do 7hrs in one shot...got the winters on...but hopefully I don't hit a snow storm..

7 hrs is nothing. Barely a road trip if you ask me lol. A road trip to me takes more then 1 day. You'll bang out those 7 hrs before you know it. Just check your oil and tire pressure b4 you leave.

I did the ride up to Montreal at the end of September for a trackday @ Mont Tremblant...made it to the border in 5 1/2 hrs with 1 stop for gas & 1 bathroom break for the wife....kind of helped that I was pacing a car in front of me about 1/4 mile back so the speed stayed up & on the way back I made it in 6 1/2 hrs b/c of traffic
7hrs is nothing....my boys (4 cars) on the way up all got tickets b/c they were running in a pack

But dude you have to "MAN UP" 7 hrs is NOTHING. You probably sit at your desk at work longer if you have a desk job. |

ok ok...trip done! Heading out there was pretty scary at times, left at 8pm and got there at 430am through torrential rain and then a snow storm...seeing you've got 80miles on a completely deserted stretch and the roads are getting a layer of snow...not good! On the way back was clear skies and relatively clear roads...M is an absolute beast on the highway ...was hoping to see some other nice cars along the stretch but sadly there was none

I may have to relate a horror story about this... car is actually at the dealer/service right now, hopefully they'll make my situation "right". |
