"Private Track Rental" at NJMP - Thunderbolt $250 per...3-30-2012

As the title states, I will be renting New Jersey Motorsports Part Thunderbolt course on March 30th 2012. We've done this 2 years in a row and it's turned out great. It will be a majority modern american muscle event but ALL cars are welcomed. Beginners will have instructors (beginners group is already full) and there will be 3 run groups (beginner, intermediate and advanced). It will be santioned by NASA NE (www.nasane.com) which means NASA will be running the day of the event from classroom, pit in and out, tech, etc. It will be very organized and safe.

We are currently looking for intermediate to advanced drivers to fill up spots since we have come up short on drivers this year. The cost for the event is $257.78. That will get you four 30 minute sessions on the track. for the day.

If you are on Facebook please follow the group I created for the day if interested...
http://www.facebook.com/groups/2012ModernMoparTrackDay

Everyone planning to attend please send a email to 2012modernmopartrackday@gmail.com with:

1. Your full name
2. email address
3. cell number
4. Forum you frequent and forum screen name
5.Vehicle you'll be using at the event
6. On track experience

If there's anyone outside the forum, not on facebook and wants to attend give them the official email address... 2012modernmopartrackday@gmail.com and the same instructions posted above.

Are you the guy with the dark red 300C SRT8? If so, I think I've seen you at about every track day I've done over the last year--NJMP, LRP, Watkins Glen! If it's you, you were running really quick lap times at Watkins Glen last fall (during that horrible 45-degree, rainy/foggy weekend), I'm assuming in Advanced, but then I saw you had done some damage to the rear corner of the car. Hope you got everything fixed up without a problem.

That was me! All is ok now. Hopefully we can get to formally meet at NJMP on March 30th?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, but I'm sure I'll see you at some point this season. I have a blue M3 sedan. I think I first saw your car at a Monticello PDA/NASA event two summers ago--you were running what looked like Continental take-offs. Based on your speed and lap times, your car must handle well for a relatively large vehicle. Have you done suspension work to it? Do you leave the transmission in automatic or do you have a tap-shift type option?

What are the requirements to meet the intermediate group? I haven't been to any HPDE days like this before but have taken part in several different driving schools......

BC Racing coilovers, Stack Performance Sway bars and endlinks with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel (tap-shift option). I still run the Continental take-offs. I get them fairly cheap through JohnBergett racing in WI. That was me at Monticello as well. It sucks NASA doesn't go there anymore. I'll see you at another event during the year for sure.

Driving experience and if your ready to ride without a instructor. If you driven on Thunderbolt course at the drving schools before that will bump you up as well.

^Haven't driven the road courses down there. When I had my shifter Tony Kart I used to run it there on the Kart track, other than that I've done the M Schools and a Skip Barber School...

Wow, that's a good price. I've done the 2 day BMWCCA school at Lightning and Lime Rock. Does that qualify me to be in intermediate?

I spoke to a good friend (M3 and M5 owner) and he said the M School is legit. That being said this is what I can do for the both of you. Put you both in intermediate and have a instructor ride with you the 1st session to check your driving skills and show the lines. Sounds good?

The event is rain or shine. However, ice, snow, heavy fog, etc NJMP will fully refund all money paid or reschedule for a date later in the year.

Instructors will be assigned to the Beginners for the entire day. However, the beginners group is full. For the intermediate group you can get a instructor for the 1st session of the day.
