What's the widest tire possible on any rims for the rear?

Anyone know the widest tire you can put on the rear of the 135i? Doesn't matter what wheel.

I think with negative camber and the apex arc-8s a 285 is possible

That sucks hard. Was thinking some 315's would look good.

camber plates apply to the front axle only.

...and i think the responses here are pretty much on-point. i could imagine maybe a 295, if the offset is spot on, depending on tire selection, but 285 on the apex wheels is pretty darn close inside and outside. the problem is you won't be able to select anything even remotely close to that width in the front, so you'll be stuck with a tremendous stagger in sizes, and gobs of understeer at the limit.

Lol 315's don't even fit on a 1M. You will need a wide body for that.

Why would you want 315's in the rear? You'll only increase the understeer of the car.

I guess the first question I have is, why? Drag racing, tracking, looks? The widest tire does not always = most functional as many other responses here indicate.
