Enkei RPF1
Good Day All.
Well after an arduous search for new wheels I finally convinced myself on the RPF1s. Why, you ask?....well first, they are one of the lightest wheels I know at a good price point. Cant beat the cost vs. quality. I know that they have been proven by many around many forums and talked ad nauseam about their prowess. Second, I wanted something that has not done many times over. I seriously considered VMR's awesome V710s, V718s, VB3s. Also Breyton's GTS-Rs for which they match the RPF1s pound for pound but looked too much like the V710s. I went through OZ's Aleggeritas, Ultraleggeras and such but my budget was just off. Looked at Forgestars (V710s again) but they didnt really call to me either. Needless to say, I was still hesitant because of the fitment of the RPF1s...might be too aggresive at 8.5" et40. But come to find out, I don't think they are if you match them with the proper tire and size. I went with the Michelin PSS (awesome by the way) 225/245 to ensure I had no rubbing issues. So Far so good but the front fitment does poke out JUST barely. I dont think it will be an issue. Result?....I think they look outstanding! Obviously its a subjective point but I believe that a few others here would agree. So what is the total weight per corner? After a very calculated process (used my bathroom scale), to my surprise, they all come at 41.6 lbs, wheel+tire. I really don't have much to compare to, but I do know that this is pretty good. I also weighed my winter set up with stock 264s and 225/40 Michelin X-Ice XI2 at 50.8 lbs each; again a very calculated process. I was happy to know that I saved ~9 lbs per corner. Now, this is where I need your suggestions: considering the fitment, I still would like to add either the Eibach Pro-Kit or H&R Sport Springs. Which one would give me the less hassle. Also, Im looking at a powdercoat to a gunmetal/dark gunmetal matte color or just keep them silver. What do you all think about that? Kind Regards, Peter So without further ado... That is a different wheel for this car...can't decide though if I like them or not...but ultimately if you like them and are happy that's all that matters

I have a friend who's run a set on his STi for over 4 years. Track days, auto-crossing, driving on DC streets, these wheels have seen it all and survived. Congrats.

I love those wheels, it would look awsome with a drop. What made you decide to run such a narrow square set-up?
I have H&R lowering springs I could sell you. Ill be back in germany in a month of so. PM me if you are interested. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=246 You should check out the European sub-forum, quite a few of us in there. Introduce yourself if you want. |

They don't come in a 9" for a 5x120. I checked on Enkei's website becuase I'm real close to getting a set for myself. My car is black and lowered so I hope they look as good as I'm imagining. OP they look great by the way!

Yeah. I also looked the Raijin as well. But when I found out the weight, might as well as go with the VMR V710...a much better look IMO. Also, when I purchased mine, Tire Rack only had they silver ones because the black ones were discontinued (according to them). I could have gone somewhere else to buy but I couldn't ignore the ease of having my tires already mounted, balanced and with the TPMS. Plus the shipping is about half the cost of others |
