Car waiting at port

So my 2012 E93 is built and now waiting at port for shipping to NY. Dealer rep can't say how much longer it will be. Anyone have an idea of the wait?

My car awaited ship departure for over a week, then there was the week crossing the Atlantic followed by anothe week or so in Charleston before it finally showed up in Spartanburg. For your car, my ballpark guess is 3 weeks, maybe 4 weeks tops.

Edit: My car was completed on March 23 and I picked it up on May 17th. Yours won't take that long, I hope.

Go to this subforum. It was a big help to me when I ordered my car last summer.

At the port on this side or Bremerhaven? Ships sail every 6 days from there. If youre saying it's on this side of the pond its a question I have as well. Mine was discharged off the Medea in Halifax on the 28th. Good luck. Made it from Munich to Halifax in 21 days which was pretty good. It missed the first boat and had to wait 6 days.

I was okay with the wait until I knew it had landed in Canada. Now it's driving me nuts.

So you probably have these...... But if you dont. First go to the wallnius willhelmsen site. Go to the ALL USERS option which is under the Track and Trace. Go to the Cargo ID space and type in the full VIN. This will show you a couple of things. If it's been booked, and taken in at induction. You can also see the sailing schedule as well. Heres the site. It will also show when its loaded. It will show you the Voyage number which you can click on and see what date its due for whatever port you are near.

Next go to this site once you find out what ship the car is going on. It's an okay site, a little useless for me being in Canada as once it leaves the UK coast its out of range. You'll be able to track it from Halifax to Jersey ok. Anyways good luck. I imagine you have these sites anyways but in case you dont.

Cheers.

Tried the Wallnius site, but "no records found" yet. I'll check daily.

Thanks again

Mine never showed as it was shipped by a different carrier. Once BMW sent me the name of the ship I was able to google/track it by ship name on marinetraffic.com. Just a head's up in case your car doesn't show up on the Wallenius site.

I can't verify this but Wallnius is the shipper BMW uses the most by far. To settle your mind, I did ED. I dropped the car off in Munich and it got to Bremerhaven very quickly- The next night. It missed the boat that sailed the next day. The next ship was 6 days later and it wasn't til the night before it sailed did it show up on the Wallnius tracking site. Get an idea when that is on the site and go to schedules Bremerhaven to NJ. You'll at least have an idea when the next boat shoves off.

OK - so the next Wallnius ship out of Bremerhaven is the Asian King departing on 6/6. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

You and me both. If yours finished 5/22, i would expect that it will be on the next one. My dealer had a car that went into production the same time as mine but finished sooner and got on a ship withing about 3 days. My assumption is that mine will be on the next departing ship (and i suspect yours will be as well).

My dealer told me that the car they had was showing an ETA of 5/7 here in the US. Add another 3-7 days to actually get to the dealer (Im in Central VA) and there's a decent representation of what to expect. Best of luck.

Mine took 11-days from Bremerhaven port arrival to getting on to a ship (once on a ship your SA should be able to give you a Bill of Laden # to track your car). Then 19-days to cross the pond and 2 days from US port arrival to my dealer in NJ.

Good thing you have the forums to cling to until she arrives! I remember pacing back and forth in my driveway waiting for the truck to arrive with my baby!
