1st Service - What Gets Done?
My car is coming up on 1 year old in a couple weeks so its time for the first service.
Other than an oil change, is anything else required? Should I request some things get done? What about stupid stuff like wiper blades, etc?

Mine is due now. I am just waiting for the snow to clear to make an appointment. I'm assuming oil change, wipers, and I'm gonna bring up some small concerns while I'm there to see if they'll take care of such as discoloration of the shadow line trim and passenger door rattles.

Thanks.
The only specific issue I have is the plastic piece that controls the electric seat is broken. I just wanted to make sure I get all the work done that's supposed to get done.

I assume they do that automatically but I'll make sure. I think I'm exempt from the battery cable recall as my car was built after the date referenced.

As others have said, the first service is basically just an oil change with some variations depending on dealership and how the car's been driven. There shouldn't be a need for anything major at one year into the car's life. Just beware of your service guy trying to trade you up with expensive optional service that he recommends. Part of his job is to sell you stuff to get money out of your "free service". My service guy tried to sell me a $125 battery recharge and a $350 plus suspension alignment. It felt like I was getting hit up by the con man Harold Hill from The Music Man [We got baaaaaad potholes, right here in River City...]
