Issue with EDC

I recently got the EDC malfunction error code on my car, a 2008 sedan. Because I had a mechanic working on the front right strut, and because he wasnt able to initially properly secure the collar for the Ground Control sleeve kit, I drove it home a short distance and got the malfunction code.

Because of all of this, I was under the impression it was an issue with the front strut, and wound up getting a set of used struts. I then replace the "damaged" strut, but this didnt resolve the problem. I then processed to plug in the rears to see if one of them was compromised, and the light shut off for about 5 miles, then popped back on.

Out of ideas at this point. Any coders out there or anyone have experience with this? I just want to find out what the issue is and resolve it.

EDC module comes to mind. You could unplugged the battery and see if the adaptations and the module will reset...........Phil

Yeah I was told that. Guess I'll try first. Even if I went with KW, I still have to have the module working dont I?

Found this module, not sure it fits. They should be interchangeable.

Stop replacing parts, check all plugs on each strut and make sure each are all the way plugged in and correctly installed, many people had that problem and all it was a loose connection

That's the first thing I did.

You need to scan for codes and see what the problem is before working on a solution.

Motorcepts showed my the module. It had water damage, likely from small imperfections in the Sonic trunk that I installed. Either that or the drain tube that runs out of the moonroof that goes right over it. Just ordered a replacement.

That sucks, but thanks for taking the time to follow up. EDC systems are typically problem-free.

Yes, was very perplexed. But it makes sense, since the drain tube and the tail light are close by.
