Production #

yes, you should manage your expectations in that regard. I think I received mine on February 5th, but my targeted completion date is now February 15th, and it has moved out 1 day each day this week.

Expectations should definitely be managed. I received my production number January 8 with an expectation that it would be built the first week in February, but two week later it still shows as "Order Documented" on the on-line system.

My CA just told me, Production pushed back to march due to outages of options on your car. No wonder my status was stuck on Order documented for so long.

your CA should have a build week. If he told you 3 weeks, I would think that means it should go into production a week from Monday. Only takes a week for the whole build process (including final inspections and whatever), then a week to get it up to NY, usually.

When you call the 800#, get an agent and ask them if there is an estimated production date in the system. There should be, but they won't always tell you..

What options are being held back on your production? I thought BMWNA has resumed full production on the F15 mid-January...

I got pushed back to week 8 or 9. I was under the same impression. Perhaps there's something else that became delayed?

My build is a 50, alpine/mocha nappa with everything but rear entertainment and comfort rear seats.

What's yours?

What is in your build?

For while, it was delayed by the 469M wheel, nappa dash, mocha leather, rear camera...

Since Feb is a short month with more than our share of north-eastern snow, it could have somewhat of an impact on production...

It is safe to say that once you received your production #, than it is all up to BMW NA to schedule, fabricate and complete the vehicle... according to my SA...

I have a production number for a 5.0i for week 11 build. Apparently the build week is the week it is supposed to be done so you should see production start 10 days before. So far there is a green check next to mine at the dealer screen, but I think that might change based on the comments above. Let's see...

I was told I had a week 8 build (week 8 starts today apparently) but I was able to make a change on Wednesday so I suspect the build date refers to when they start rather than finish? Not sure how long a build takes - I suspect about a week? However, I have an extra month to wait whilst they ship to the uk.

Yep. Week 8 starts tomorrow (Monday 17). BMW and many other manufacturers use the ISO-8601 standard for defining week numbers.

Production takes 7-10 days inclusive of the final touches and inspections.
