New X5 Owner Question

My X5 is off in the garage.
The Hazard button on the center dash and the Button under it with the circle around the car stay semi illuminated when the car is off, is this normal??
If I leave the keys in the car unlocked or if I lock it these two lights can be seen on.

I don't think so. Mine is off in the garage and the only thing lit is the flashing alarm light under the mirror

Are other interior lights on too? You should be able to change that in your settings for proximity. From the factory I believe it is set to 30 seconds but if you bought it used or someone changed it, then can max it for around 4 minutes.

Your guy in FT W. never called me back, and I thought you had some pull

Classic in Plano had a car come in a few weeks ago that was almost exactly what I would have ordered and I grabbed it.

Another X5 question.
So I leave the keys in the car when its in my garage, I press the Start/Stop button and turn off the engine, but it seems that to turn off the iDrive/Radio I need to press the Start/Stop button again or lock the car from the outside?
Is this correct or is there some setting that pressing the Stop button turns off the car and iDrive/Radio??
Thanks

You have to either hit the start/stop again without your foot on the brake or once you've turned the engine off you have to hit unlock with the key fob.

As a separate note, do not leave your key in the car in the garage. It will eventually drain your battery and they won't cover it under warranty - they're first question would be do you leave your key in the car.

Thanks.
How is keeping the key in the ace while it's off going to drain the battery?

When you push the start/stop button to shut it down, don't just jab it, hold it in for a second. Everything should shut down then. Just giving it a quick push to shut it off is the equivalent of turning an ignition key to the accessory position.

Another question.
Can I remove that stupid Phone Dock in the arm rest compartment?
I'm not going to use it and it takes up a lot of useful space. Can It be unscrewed and removed??
Thanks

Car has comfort access and the car knows the key is in the car so certain systems will toggle between on and off.

No, it cannot be removed, it is part of the BMW Apps/Smartphone integration, comes from the factory and might even be standard now in the vehicle.
