Since there is not much going on and no new information being released on the M4 any time soon. What's your speculation on the the New M4, Faster, Slower or Same as the M3 GTS.

Also it will be very easy to tune the m4. Just chipping it would give u easily 80 hp. |

The new M4 is at least 10s faster round the Nurburgring than the E92 M3.
How much faster was the GTS? (a time set on similar tires obviously) If you compare those times you should get a good indication on relative performance. |

My guess is that the M4 will be faster with the same tires as the GTS.
For this, I am assuming that the S55 is underrated and that it actually produces 440-450hp |

swamp2 has done simulations and I believe that he expects the M4 to be something like 15-20s faster than the E92 M3 around the Ring. BMW has claimed "at least 10s"... |

As you stated yourself, the tires are a huge variable

I had the chance to be passenger in my friend's GTS (around the Ring) and to drive it (carefully) on public roads. All I want to say is that it doesn't matter which one is faster because the M4/M3 will never be as track focused than a GTS. It's just amazing how this car is different than a regular M3. When I drove back my E92 zcp I had the feeling I was driving a Prius...

Given the M4 will likely be equipped with Michelin Pilot Super Sports versus the GTS's Pirelli Corsa's I think it will still be close time to the GTS. given a set of Pilot Sport Cup II's I think its gonna be surprisingly fast. I will wager a 7:39 lap is possible on PSC-2. 7:49 on PSS.

They have a flash for 435i which give you 100 hp at the crank. So 80 to 100hp is something we can expect for the M4/M3. |

"The suspension is a familiar strut-type front end with a multi-link rear. BMW says it took advantage of its DTM drivers Bruno Spengler and Timo Glock in the development of the 2015 M3 and M4 suspension settings, including extensive testing at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. New aluminum suspension elements reduce unsprung weight." Last edited by Flying Brick; 03-29-2014 at 11:33 PM.. |

I think the GTS will eat the M4 on the track unless the driver is a pro. But I assume a future special version M4 will be wickedly fast and spank all prior M3s.
