Ivory White/Black Dakota and Hex Aluminum
Hi,
I'm about to place my order for a new X5 and need some advice on trim color. Car is as follows: MSport Carbon Black Exterior Ivory White / Black Dakota Question: Should I go with Hexagon Aluminum or Fineline Oak? I like the Hex Aluminum, just not sure how it will look with that interior. I can't find any pics of this combo online. If you have them, please post! Thanks, Matt |

It is really a personal choice. Hex aluminum is only available in M sport. It has a modern line to the car. Our last one we had wood, so this one we selected hex trim. It is really nice and breaks up our black dakota interior with the black headliner.

Still gives you an idea of how it looks. Especially since the hex doesn't always show up well in pics. But do a search on the forum, there are some threads with ivory and hex, I think from back around November or so but search 'ivory and aluminum hex' and you should find it. You'll have to use the website not the app though.

Mine was ordered with ivory/black dakota and Hexagon Aluminium trim (carbon black exterior). I'll post some photos as soon as I get it : if everything is fine, it should be next week. But that's right that it's not easy to really see what hexagon trim looks like on photos.

Just picked up our new F15 50i MSport yesterday - Mineral White/Black Dakota/Hex Alum. (we have kids, so we can't get any interior color expect for black ) All of our other BMW's have had some sort of "wood" trim and this is the first one with an aluminum trim. Metal always seemed like a"cold" choice but we decided to take a chance on this one.
While the car is still new, I can say that I'm very happy with the hex aluminum trim. As is my wife, who pre-kids worked for a high end office furniture manufacturer and was upset that "birdseye maple" or some other rare wood wasn't an option, and she absolutely loves it...
