F10 M5 vs. Dodge Caravan
At this point with people comparing the M5 to the 911 I figured I would put into true perspective how absurd it is. To put sarcasm aside, I would find a worthy comparison and debate between the M5 and Panamera....
That is all. |

Well, in an open forum, we can't really tell people what they can/cannot post even though like u, i feel such comparisons are kinda silly. The 911 complements the M5, not replace it. The people who replaced the M5 with a 911 and pats himself on the back for a job well done probably bought the wrong car to begin with. Like I always say, if u don't need to ferry a bunch of passengers and a big boot, u dun get yourself a M5. Buy a sports car! However, many M5 owners seem to enjoy such comparisons...

While I do not recall anyone in particular trading in their M5 for a 911, I completely agree that directly comparing the two is foolish. Both cars make you smile for different reasons, and both are great in their own respects. They would be great companions in the garage though!

Let me clarify some things. Yes this is a open forum and people can post what ever they want. I implore it. However it does leave the door open to debate, and criticism. Coldlist indeed started this with the dark side thread. He was motivating factor that caused me to get my 991.
I have enjoyed these posts. Some of the members are very intelligent and knowledgeable about cars. I have learned lots of things from reading their responses. I'm thankful. Although, some people have written things that show they have no idea what they're doing or what they want out of a car. That is why I was sarcastic and wrote this post. It's either you get both cars....Or you want one of them for the obvious different attributes that they supply. In no way shape or form can they be compared, they are so different. |

I replaced my M5 with an V10 Audi R8 and havent seen that comparo posted yet but then thats a stretch. There have been a few buyers here have jumped or joined ship with Porsche concerning the 991 and few other chassis versions. The comparisons will always occur, even the more absurd versions and it happens on all forums. I think thats why M5Post even started the Versus section; there were just too many comparos in the main area. I actually like all the cross model and brand talk. I have a learned a few things and shared experiences. If I can personally add some perspective or answer any questions I am always willing to do so to better inform a potential buyer.
Back the topic at hand: The Dodge carvan can seat more passengers and its price point is much lower- therefore its the better vehicle.

I'm happy to report the people at Mopar have been able to crack the ecu and remove the top speed governor so it can finally reach it's natural top speed of 217 mph. I heard they are coming out with a FRT (family race team) version. Nurburgring times have been sub 7:00 mins.

And the price difference (since you mentioned it) is so great that you can only imagine how good the competitor can make that heavy vehicle be if they spent all that same money right? So, forget turns and all of that. That big heavy thing is so good at doing EVERYTHING. It is the ultimate vehicle not matter what you say! And you can't convince me otherwise even if I am quoting magazines!-lol

Yeah, I was so overwhelmed with this whole thing I forgot! And the SPACE! I mean, if you have a family, get a family vehicle. It's not like you need to do 90 mph or track the thing.
